My Suman Latik Experience

This is my first time to try this Suman Latik, not really into kakanin but my friend from Iloilo discover this Suman Latik and ever since when ever he buys something in Greenhills he usually buy this Suman Latik in Tita Paring. Since this is his treat so I give it a try because im not a picky eater anyway.

Suman Latik is “suman sa lihia” in its generic form. It is known in different dialects and comes in all shapes and sizes depending on the province or region. Suman Latik’s origin is from Western Samar province. It is triangular shape, topped with a thick latik sauce; hence the name Suman Latik.

Amparo Cuna Sabinosa or “Tita Paring” has been preparing this popular delicacy in Manila since the pre-war era, and over a half century later, had refined and perfected many Filipino delicacies and dishes.

Food area was clean and well maintained so thumps up for that. They also serve dinuguan at puto which my friend told me a must try also, but Im to full to try that. Notice that most of their menu is Merienda Delicacies.

The suman was great but what I think the sauce makes it perfect.

You can try Tita Paring Suman Latik at this branches:

Casetta del Divino Zelo

My friend recommended me this place in Silang Cavite that sells organic soap, The place is actually a bee farm and most of the products that they offer is more into Bee products/organic. What made me interested to visit the place was the Italian Restaurant (Casetta del Divino Zelo) run by nuns(Sisters of Divine Zeal). As per my friend, the nun who cooks for Casetta del Divino Zelo stayed for years in Italy.

After months of planing ito natuloy na din! Its my birthday week at nagkayayaan kaming magkakaibigan to visit Tagytay so I suggested to have brunch/Lunch in Casetta del Divino Zelo. Actually no-one knew how to go there so we tried this very useful app (google map). I tried to look for direction for Casetta del Divino Zelo but it is not searchable so I tried Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm and viola directions was available. I really recommend to use this app or other Navigation app since the signage of Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm is not really visible along the highway.

The place is very cozy and relaxing ambiance. Since this is run by nuns there is a small chapel overlooking from our table so while waiting for our meal umikotikot muna kami sa place. I love the chapel parang napaka peaceful lang ang dating at since open ang sides medyo presko sya. The garden looks nice,  kahit kakatapos lng nang typhoon so madami daw nasira sa place but the surrounding is well maintained by the nuns parang di binagyo. The dinning itself has this relaxing feeling maybe because of the garden view at open air sya.Very nice and clean.

Dahil mausisa lang I got to check the kitchen. Surprisingly clean, it didn’t look like a restaurant kitchen but a house kitchen which is well maintained ang linis sobra!
