What’s polite here can offend elsewhere

Nothing interesting happened to me this past few days. Life is so boring and nothing to blog but anyway just found this old article from CHICAGO TRIBUNE its worth a read, facts that we need to know.

By Ross Werland CHICAGO TRIBUNE

Americans aren’t always greeted with open arms when traveling abroad. That could be because open arms aren’t polite in that country.

The travel Web site Vayama. com surveyed U.S. travelers, about half of whom said they have committed social sins in other countries, and about the same number said they simply don’t bother to find out.

We’ve culled some tips from the site’s etiquette section.

• Don’t be offended by Argentine humor, which can sometimes be insulting, such as poking fun at your appearance, weight or attire.

• Don’t kiss the hand of an Austrian woman unless you are Austrian.

• In Brazil, don’t make the “OK” sign with your hand. It’s considered very rude.

• Don’t give a Chinese person a clock as a gift. Clocks are associated with death and funerals.

• In Denmark, don’t be too touchy-feely.

• Conversely, in Italy, don’t pull away or get offended if an Italian associate hugs you.

• In Egypt, don’t use your left hand to eat.

• In Ghana, don’t blow your nose at the dinner table.

• In India, do leave a small amount of food on your plate to show you are satisfied.

• But in Kenya, finish everything to be polite.

Emotional Cheating

I got this from teen magazine forgot the name of the magazine but this information is worth to know!

Did you know it’s possible to cheat with someone you’ve never met? when you share thoughts and feelings with a guy other than you BF (like someone you met online), it’s called emotional cheating. It may seem harmless, but spending all that energy on someone else could signal that you’re not connecting with your BF

AN EMOTIONAL CHEATER…….

*   Lies to her BF about spending time to her new “friend”.

*   Is more excited texting her “friend” than her BF.

*   Tells her “friend” secrets she wouldn’t reveal to her BF (or anyone else).

*   Doesn’t want her BF to meet her new “friend”.

Lomo Collage

Im so bored today, so I made this lomography collage. Actually the pictures that I used are not taken using my Canon digital cam and my Canon slr, I just made some photo manipulation on each picture to look like a lomophoto’s. Also the background was my digital art that i made yesterday its the same as my banner here (on my new layout).

While making this collage Im listening to Boyce Avenue CD’s (I have there 4 album, All You’re Meant To Be, Acoustic Sessions, Vol. 1-2-&3). I love there cover of different song’s. I was thinking of having a downloadable album of new release or old albums that I have but I think Ill get into trouble because  of copyright. hehehehe

I really wanted to add more titles on my friends blog so I synch my iPod but eventually, my iPod is not synching with my PC. I know I consume almost 80gb space of my iPod 80gb video but up to now I don’t know what seems to be the problem. For sure its not the space because I still have 700mb left on my iPod. So if anyone encounter this kind of problem will you help me out please,  I don’t want to delete all my songs on my iPod for sure there is another way to fix this please help me. Also if any brokenhearted, reading this blog I can suggest more song to you before I delete my playlist because the playlist is no more use for me.

The Thank You Girls

I believe that this indie film is worth watching for, I heard that this film competed in Vancouver International Film Festival’s Dragons and Tigers Competition for Young Filmmakers.

But watching the trailer, I think that the writer and the director wants to emphasize that cross-dresser gays are not subject for ridicule. They are also human who deserve respect, people who are intelligent and have their own aspiration and dreams to conquer.

Here is the synopsis which I found in the official website of TYG

Tired of losing in all the beauty competitions in their hometown of Davao City, six dysfunctional gay beauty pageant veterans travel north to Cagayan de Oro with a single mission: to conquer the grandest competition of beauty and brains in the whole province. They figure the small town gays will never stand a chance against big city boys like them.

As they travel through the breathtaking landscape and culture vignettes of rural Mindanao, each character struggles to win just a single title, while also battling their own inner demons.

Blinded by their belief in the power of their so-called beauty, they still have to prove to themselves that whether on or off stage, beauty doesn’t come in packages wrapped in foundation, mascara, eyeliners and witty beauty pageant answer. their travels will bring them back to basics of themselves might just teach them that being a run-away loser is not ugly after all.

REGULAR SCREENING MANILA

ROBINSONS GALERIA INDIESINE

JANUARY 21-27, 2009

Butas (Loophole)

Last Monday I watched Butas  (Loophole) another filipino indie film at UP Theater, I think it was a waste of time for me. Basically the story is nice but not that strong in addition to that Allen Dizon, Gwen Garci, Marco Morales need more workshop. Portrayals of the character was so plain, I cant feel the pain the emotion of the character they portray.  There are some scenes that are to dragging in short boring, also some wrong scenes like Marco was wearing a gray sando and in few seconds his wearing a black sando. Main loophole on this film was unsynchronized of the scene. Two cameras suppose to be taken in same scene but different movement which supposed to be the same.

So for me its not artfully made, weak in terms of story and acting, dragging. One more thing, given a fact that this is a low budgeted film so I’m not going to give any comment on the jail scene which I know it was taken on the same old house but the things is, it’s a jail and character of Allen Dizon is basically not rich why on earth is he wearing a Lacoste shirt he could wear orange or yellow shirt or maybe just a plain shirt.

Mcdonalds Commercial “First Love”

The new commercial of Mcdonald’s really melted my heart. The concept of 80’s is so baduy but in a cute way, so love the hair and their dress. I would not get tired of playing and watching it all over again. Kudos DDB Philippines and with the music “Ang Huling El Bimbo” by Ely Buendia makes it perfect.

Under construction.

I’m still fixing all the stuff here and I hope this will be up and running by next week but please do check out http://mushy.yekram.com/ and http://travel.yekram.com/.

It’s up and running, I’m just designing my layout for that site but its working perfectly.
